Weight Loss
The tricky game of the food industry
by G. Joel Ullisperger in 12.08.2009 04:44
If it would be only limited to overweight, but there are unwelcomed side effects in form of severe health problems. Among others, there are symptoms like allergies and asthma, hypertension, fat metabolism disorder and many others. With children, ADHD is a constantly growing disease. They also suffer from diabetes, a disease formerly only diagnosed with elder adults.
The cause of overweight is well known. It is the result of a completely wrong nutrition. Consequently, the only solution to get the weight down again to normal is to eat different. Unfortunately, the many diets offered today in mass have something in common. None of them works long term. If they would, the problem would be for sure smaller.
Too little physical action is another reason. Most of us stand up in the morning only to sit again in a car, on a chair at the workplace, again in the car to get back home and in the evening, we sit on the couch. However, let's stay with diet having a look at what we eat.
We munch calorie dense food like potatoes and pasta, bread and cakes in mass and thus we already consume more calories than we need. Above all, there are chips and sweets, chocolate and ice cream. You need a lot of willpower to say no to all the temptations you see on supermarket shelves. Not to forget is fast food like hamburgers, pizza and others. Fast food restaurants spring up like mushrooms.
Thanks to the food industry, these products taste so well. This foodstuff contains additives that make you crave for more so that people consume huge quantities it. One of these additives is saccharine, which has been used in pig fattening already for decades and it is highly effective because otherwise they would not use it.
Unfortunately, industry food contains still a lot more additives like artificial flavors and others with similar effects. They don't even have to be declared as long as the quantities remain below certain threshold values. Therefore, you never know what you really eat.
As a result, people consume many calories although they have eaten only little. As they are still hungry, they go on eating and their weight climbs week after week. Just occasionally, you might be wondering why you actually eat much more than you actually want. It is not their fault. It takes a lot of willpower to say no to these things with the built in "eat more of me" effect.
The food industry is laughing as they fool all of us and feed their pockets whatever it costs. They do not care whether you are overweight because they have expensive pills for weight loss and other diet products to get still more of your money. Simply said once they got you they have a lifetime customer unable to escape there net. You need none of that stuff for fast weight loss. You neither need a meals diet what means to eat little portions to reduce the amount of calories.
The better and only solution we have is to eat different and stop eating that much industry food. If you look back, especially the older ones of us can remember it, overweight was seldom a topic until the late 1960s. Until then people used to eat mainly natural things and cakes were still homemade with natural ingredients. Today we use ready mixtures instead.
To escape the overweight trap we simply need to know what food to choose to supply the body with nutrient dense food it needs to stay healthy and to keep weight normal instead of eating calorie and chemical dense food making us overweight and ill. Once you know that, you can eat a lot and still lose weight.
Therefore, my meals today will be a big portion of fruit for lunch and delicious homemade Chinese vegetables for dinner! What is your choice?
